April 2008
Ladies' Retreat at Falls Creek
Ladies, be sure that you are signed up with Lisa Stiles to go to the Ladies retreat at Falls Creek. They are going to
have such a great time together with lots of other women from Baptist Churches across the state. This is also a great
time for you to see the new conference center. It is beautiful.
You know what happens when you play country music backwards? You quit drinking, you get your wife back and your lost dog comes home.
Kirby's Notes
Our monthly luncheon will be on the 14th. I was so very excited about the attendance that we had at the March luncheon.
I hope we have that many and more for April. Be sure to cook your best meal and bring a friend.
Thanks for the help you provided in getting the packets ready for distribution on Monday. You did a great job and working with one another makes the work a joy to do. Thanks again, I love you all very much.
When I was a kid we had a quick-sand box in our back yard. I was an only child, eventually.
Senior Day Out
Our Senior Day Out will be April 17 at Tulakogee. I can hardly wait for this one. If you have never gone to one of
these with us, this would be just a fantastic one for you to attend. The Sonshine Singers are a Senior Adult choir from
First Baptist Church Levelland, Tx. By the poster it looks like they have about 60 members. The cost is $10 each and
you need to sign up at the Registration table. We will leave the church at 8:00 AM and I would love to take a bus load
this time. After the concert, if you want, we can go to Muskogee and see the Azaleas.
Definition: Tact – thinking all you say without saying all you think.
Mystery Tour
It is about time for another Mystery Tour. We will take one in May. I have not planned one yet, I do have a couple of ideas.
If you have an idea, let me know and I will consider it.
"Pastor," said the woman. "Please don’t be upset that my husband walked out during the sermon. He has been sleepwalking since he was a child."

More Thoughts on Prayer
Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
(1 John 5:14 - NKJV) When we pray, we are to ask according to the will of God. John 14 says "Whatever you ask in my name I
will do it…" That does not mean that just by adding "in Jesus name" at the end of a prayer that God is obligated to fulfill
your wishes.
It means two things. First it means that you are praying in the authority of God. Secondly it means that you are praying in a way that is consistent with His character. In other words, we are praying in such a way that truly represents Christ and reflects His own Holy will. We don’t ask for things that we know God will not fulfill, but we pray consistent with the God of the Bible and what He would want. That means you have to know the God of the Bible and not a god of your own imagination.
